Our experienced teams provide a single interface for complicated and technically challenging brownfield and greenfield high voltage substation and transmission line projects.

Understanding our clients delivery expectations, design standards and safety rules is our priority.

Zinfra’s multi-discipline design team provides a single interface for complicated and technically challenging brownfield and greenfield High Voltage substation and transmission line projects.

Zinfra and its design partners have specialist capability in the following:

  • Safety in Design, Safety Management and Construction Risk Assessments

  • In-house concept design preparation including general arrangements, elevations, equipment schedules, project staging diagrams, etc

  • Evaluation of existing design packages to propose logical optimisations to client

  • Civil / Structural design including earthworks, drainage, roads, foundations, bunds, structures, fencing and buildings

  • Primary electrical design services including load flow and fault studies, earthing, insulation coordination, electromagnetic interference, lightning protection, switchyard lighting, layouts, elevations, bill of materials and cable schedules

  • Overhead power line design up to 500kV using PLS-CADD

  • Power system load flow calculations, fault level calculations and determination of protection settings. Configuration files for traditional protection schemes, combined protection and control schemes and IEC61850 station bus

  • Secondary electrical design including schematics, panel layouts, terminations, material lists, cable schedules for all types of protection and control schemes

  • Substation Automation and Control design and configuration for SCADA, HMI, PLC, RTU, IED devices across various protocol

  • Telecommunication systems and backbone communications infrastructure design including Microwave radio, SDH, PDH, Pilot, Fibre and legacy systems

  • Substation auxiliary systems including DC and AC power supply systems, yard lighting systems and the protection and control cabling requirements

We acknowledge the Traditional Owners of the lands upon which we operate and recognise their continuing connection to land, waters, and culture. We pay our respects to their Elders past and present.
