Zinfra is proud to stand behind the next generation of Australian talent through its community sponsorship programs, including its support of this year’s Australian Science and Engineering Fair (AUSSEF). Among the standout participants was Year 11 student Lily Rofail from PLC Sydney, who recently travelled to the United States to take part in the prestigious Regeneron International Science and Engineering Fair (ISEF).

Thanks to Zinfra’s sponsorship, Lily was able to present her independent research project on an international stage, competing alongside more than 1,600 students from over 60 countries. Her efforts earned an impressive 4th place in the Physics and Astronomy category, along with a USD $600 prize, a remarkable achievement in such a competitive field.

Reflecting on the experience, Lily described it as “a wonderful and special time”, one that gave her the chance to meet passionate students from around the world, explore new ideas, and share her work with thousands of visitors during the event’s Public Visitation Day.

Zinfra is committed to supporting the future STEM workforce and encouraging more young people, particularly young women, to pursue careers in science, technology, engineering and mathematics. Lily’s success is not only a personal milestone but also a powerful example of what’s possible when students are supported and encouraged to shine.

Watch below Lily’s thank you message to Zinfra to hear more about her journey and what the experience meant to her.
