Zinfra deepens global collaboration through 2025 O&M Training Program with State Grid Corporation of China

Six Zinfra field team members recently completed a two-week program into future focused technologies and cultural exchange hosted by shareholder State Grid Corporation of China (SGCC).

The 12-day program was an invaluable opportunity for information exchange on cutting edge technologies in power transmission and distribution, including V2G (Vehicle-to-Grid), and EV integration facilities, from the world’s largest utility company.

Power team members from Zinfra Power Services South, Zinfra Power Services North, and Zinfra Projects & Infrastructure undertook classroom-based learning with a series of expert-led lectures focusingon the latest advancements in transmission and distribution O&M practices. Sessions included:

  • SGCC’s Development Strategy:

    delivered by Mr Zhu Shengguo, providinginsights into SGCC’s growth, innovation priorities, and long-term direction.

  • Transmission Line O&M Technologies:

    led by SGCC experts Bai Jinyang and Liang Xinyu, this module explored applications such as UAV inspections, live-line work methods, and digital twin technology.

  • Distribution Line O&M Technologies:

    facilitated by Zhang Yanjie and Li Yongfu, this session examined emerging techniques including drone inspections, cable maintenance, and live working procedures.

The group was also taken on tours of key SGCC facilities to observe operational practices first-hand, providing context and practical understanding of how advanced technologies are applied across different environments. Site visits included the Vehicle Grid Interactive Charging Station in Jinan, the Rapid Steel Tower Construction Training Centre in Anhui. Participants also had the opportunity to visit key cultural sites including Quancheng Square, Shandong Museum, and the birthplace of Confucius in Qufu.

This initiative, sponsored by Chairman of SGSPAA, Mr JIang also served to deepen mutual understanding and respect between the two organisations. SGCC’s leadership helped turn plans into meaningful execution, allowing the team to directly experience the innovation, professionalism, and excellence SGCC is known for.
