Zinfra commences contract for Jemena Electricity Network

Zinfra has commenced delivering the operations and maintenance contract on the Jemena Electricity Network (JEN) in Victoria, reinforcing its position as the leading provider of electricity field services in the Victorian market.

The contract includes the 24/7 operations and maintenance of the full Jemena electricity distribution network in Victoria, covering over 343,000 customers and over 6,160 km of network assets in North West greater Melbourne. The network covers the Northern and Sunbury growth corridors which are two of the fastest growing areas of Melbourne and includes major customers of Melbourne Airport and Visy.

The agreement represents approximately $120M revenue each year and is confirmed for five years with two five year extension options. It commenced on 1 December 2018.

According to Kevin McGrath, Zinfra General Manager for the Victorian region, "Delivering on the Jemena Electricity Network contract extends our provision of services across a number of Victoria’s electricity distribution networks, with services already delivered for United Energy and AusNet Services. This contract is an acknowledgement of our depth of experience and breadth of skill and capability to drive efficiencies on our clients’ networks."

Zinfra also delivers a variety of maintenance contracts across Australia for clients including AusGrid, TransGrid, Evoenergy, and on the Jemena Gas Network (JGN).
