Supporting the Royal Flying Doctor Service of Australia

We’re pleased to announce that our Group recently invested $40,000 towards the Royal Flying Doctor Service of Australia for their new purpose built aeromedical base and patient transfer facility.

Located at Mount Isa Airport, the new facility will replace the RFDS' existing 60+ year old facilities, allowing the team to continue providing world-leading and equitable healthcare for people living, working and traveling across North Western and Central Queensland.

With thanks to our $40,000 investment and the support of various other community partners, the new base will include:

  • Three dedicated fixed-wing and one rotary hangar – housing and supporting maintenance on fixed-wing aircraft (RFDS) and helicopters (LifeFlight).

  • Dedicated patient transfer facility – supporting up to 4 patients and their families.

  • A new ambulance bay – improving access for services & aiding clinical handovers.

  • Ample facilities for RFDS medical staff – including dedicated rest areas and offices for staff briefings and patient-sensitive tasking calls.

  • Dedicated training room – allowing for clinical simulation training, enhancing skills and leadership capacity for health professionals.

  • Improved airway design – allowing up to four aircraft to be operated simultaneously.

Through our Group Community Program we are proud to be ongoing supporters and donors to the incredible work of the RFDS in Queensland, the Northern Territory and Victoria

We acknowledge the Traditional Owners of the lands upon which we operate and recognise their continuing connection to land, waters, and culture. We pay our respects to their Elders past and present.
